About Qua

Qua is a minimalist place for you to write a blog, novel, notes, essays, articles, opinion pieces etc.

It's an instance of the WriteFreely package. Registration by invitation and federation is enabled; meaning that users can find your blogs (or collections as we call them) through ActivityPub and follow you from ActivityPub enabled software like Mastodon.

If you have an account, please follow @info@qua.name where we will write about this instance. Upgrade notices, new features and tips will be at that location.

Useful info

Some useful info about this writefreely instance:

• The instance is run by @mrb@mastodon.nl (Marcel) if you need to contact a person regarding this site.
• The site sources are published at github.com in the branch qua.name
• The whole machine on which Qua runs is snapshotted at 7.00 UTC each day. When something goes wrong, such a snapshot is restored. Other than this, there is no other backup / restore mechanism in place which is under our control.
• The Demo user can be used by anyone, log in with the password demo. It has all the same features as a normal user, except username and password changes are disabled.
• The site is for writers, bloggers, journalists or any other person that has something to write about. Other uses are permitted, but we are fairly strict when it comes to linkspam or advertising. Also see our policy notes
